Ah, it’s that time of year again – Guinness season! And let me tell you, I am feeling bliss. Living in Lisbon, I have had the privilege of discovering some of the best Irish pubs around. I wanted to share with you some of my favorites and the joys of finding these hidden gems.
First up, we have O’Gilíns Irish Pub. This establishment has been around since 1995, making it Lisbon’s oldest Irish pub. Irish folks own it, and it’s home to a bustling live music and culture scene. Even after all these years, it’s still going strong. The atmosphere is always lively, and the Guinness is delicious. The staff is a mix of old and new, but all are friendly and international, making this Irish pub a must-visit in Lisbon’s “Cais do Sodré” area.
Next, we had a serene train ride to the town of Cascais, where I discovered O’Luain’s Irish Pub. This spot is a hidden gem, with a cozy atmosphere and great Guinness. It’s the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and the perfect place to unwind with a pint of Guinness.
Discovering these pubs and the joys of enjoying a pint of Guinness with the locals is one of the many reasons why I love living in Lisbon. So, if you’re a fan of Guinness like me, join me on my journey to discover new and exciting ways to enjoy this delicious drink. I’ll be avoiding rehab and unearthing some serious mother’s milk from the Irish pubs of Lisbon, Portugal. And as always, I’m on the hunt for new culinary adventures. Join me, and let’s drink up the latest episode from Tourabunga together. Thanks for drinking with me! – Michael
