EXPLORING LISBON: Let’s Get Lost in Lisboa – Santa Justa Lift, Chiado, Time Out Market

by Melissa "Work those glutes" Boyd

In this week’s video – We find ourselves exploring Lisbon and getting lost in the beautiful city of Lisboa. We find an alternative and accessible route to the bridge of the Santa Justa Lift (Elevador de Santa Justa), built in 1902. We grab some Moscow Mules and settle in at Topo Chiado restaurant/view, which is smack dab in the heart of the Carmo Convent. This ruined Gothic church destroyed by an earthquake in 1755 (sporting an evocative roofless nave & museum) provides the perfect backdrop for imbibing Moscow Mules and watching the locals peer out of their windows. We can’t ever remember having a drink in front of such a gorgeous site.

We discover some fantastic coffee at Fabrica that is so delicious! We then impulsively jump on a funicular that takes us up top, and we get lost and realize we need to take the other funicular that leads us to the views. So it was back down, one step at a time.

Another day finds us walking Pink Street and avoiding the “oregano and flour” sales force unleashed upon us. We then escape to Time Out Market and stuff our faces with a delicious sea bass grill of the day.

Life in Lisbon is an adventure. Getting lost in this welcoming city is not only rewarding but can also be very tasty. Eat, laugh, and get lost with us. Let us know in the comments what some of your favorite dishes are at Time Out Market.
